Boba Fett’s Mandalorian armour was resistant to the stomach acid of the Sarlacc. With the help of a deceased stormtrooper O2 tank and his gauntlet flamethrower he was able create a hole in side stomach of the Slarlacc and climb to the surface.

It had been more than a decade since Boba Fett last appeared in a Star Wars show, The bounty hunter had been assumed dead after falling into the Sarlacc pit during the events of Return of the Jedi.

Boba Fett was in the Star Wars movie The Empire Strikes Back as a foe to the original trilogy heroic three.

He was a bounty hunter dressed in Mandalorian armour who attempted to collect the bounty placed on Han Solo by Tatooine’s crime lord, Jabba the Hutt.

Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, and Han Solo are condemned to death by the Sarlacc, a carnivorous creature that dwells in a pit and can keep its victims alive while digesting them for at least 1000 years.

When the inmates fight back, Solo accidentally bumps into Fett’s jetpack, launching him straight into the Sarlacc pit.

However, a post-credit scene from The Mandalorian Season 2 revealed that Boba Fett will be getting his own spinoff series, coupled with his trusted assassin Fennec Shand, who had undergone a resurrection after appearing to die in the first season.

But how did Boba Fett actually survive the Sarlacc pit? Keep reading to find out.

Boba Fett appears both in main and prequel Star Wars movie trilogies as an armoured bounty hunter.

Fett made his theatrical film début in The Empire Strikes Back, alongside Darth Vader, as the next main villain. He is one of Darth Vader‘s bounty hunters, who has promised a payment to anyone who catches the Millennium Falcon crew.

Fett features in The Empire Strikes Back as well as Return of the Jedi assisting infamous Jabba the Hutt, and is known for his quiet manner and refusal to remove his helmet.

While he appeared to be slain in Return of the Jedi upon tumbling to his certain death in the Sarlacc pit, he subsequently featured in Star Wars material which took place after the movie, indicating that he is still alive.

The character’s origins were revealed in Attack of the Clones as a clone and Jango Fett’s adoptive son, another well-known bounty hunter.

Outside of the films, the character appears in a variety of TV programs, computer games, and books, and a lot of these portray him as an anti – hero as opposed to being a villain and examine his motivations, background, and morality.

Temuera Morrison, the actor who played Fett and also played Jango in the movie Attack of the Clones, has acted as Boba Fett in the majority of his appearances in the Star Wars franchise, most notably in the popular Disney+ TV show The Mandalorian and also The Book of Boba Fett.

Despite his brief appearance in the initial Star Wars trilogy, Boba Fett has since become highly popular among fans and is a well-known character in mainstream culture. His cult following has grown out of his popularity among Star Wars fans.

How Did Boba Fett Fall Into The Sarlacc Pit?

Boba Fett appears in Return of the Jedi at Jabba’s stronghold on Tatooine, when Han Solo’s companions are kidnapped while attempting to free him.

When Princess Leia (dressed as bounty hunter Boushh) threatens Jabba with a thermal detonator, Fett fires his weapon at her, and he later sails aboard Jabba’s boat towards the Pit of Carkoon (host of the sessile carnivorous beast known as a sarlacc) to see the prisoners’ execution.

Fett glides over and fights Luke briefly when the prisoners mutiny and fight back. Chewbacca subsequently alerts Solo, who has been blind from his carbonite imprisonment, that Fett is approaching.

When Solo moves, he accidentally strikes Fett’s rocket pack, which activates it and sends the bounty hunter crashing into the sarlacc.

How Did Boba Fett Survive The Sarlacc Pit?

After Boba Fett and Shand have taken control of Jabba’s presently abandoned palace on Tatooine, the following series of events is presented in The Book of Boba Fett through flashback sequences when Boba Fett recovers in a Bacta tank

It’s not the first time we’ve seen a character use one of these healing devices; in Empire Strikes Back, Luke Skywalker used it to heal from his injuries, and Darth Vader had to use a tank for meditation without his vital systems.

Fett reverts back to his history in the tank, and then to the guts of the Sarlacc, where he first comes around.

Boba gets a firsthand look at his impending fate when he discovers a deceased stormtrooper shortly after. His suit has deteriorated, and it seems that he has been in the Sarlacc’s stomach for some time, with the soldier largely devoured.

Fett first strains to breathe, but despite the Sarlacc’s neurotoxins beginning to take effect, he manages to cut off the Stormtrooper’s oxygenation and use it for himself.

Fett also uses a flamethrower gauntlet to burn a hole in the Sarlacc’s belly, allowing him to fight his way through the breach and force up through the planet’s burning sands – possibly the episode’s most iconic scene

Even if Fett manages to flee, the remainder of Chapter 1 covers the events that followed his breakout, along with the theft of his Mandalorian armour by Jawas and his captivity by Tusken Raiders, which provides an interesting look into their society.

Boba Fett’s perseverance is impressive, as he makes his way back from Sarlacc meal to the newest criminal ruler of Tatooine, yet his breakout is only a minor part of the mythology.

The Book of Boba Fett bounces from his past via his Bacta nightmares and his present as he strives to enforce order and control with his newfound position, raising more concerns than it answers.
