The Outer Circle

The Outer Circle is a true blend of science fiction and fantasy, the central conflict in the story is the dangerous consequences when these two genres are mixed together. It asks questions about the nature of identity and intelligence, good and evil, spirituality and enlightenment. Brian’s inspirations came from films like The Dark Crystal and The NeverEnding Story, as well as 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Holy Mountain.  Brian’s approach is a blend of stop-motion, digital animation and live action. I’ve never quite seen a film made this way — and I’ll bet neither has have you guys. The storyline is both nostalgic and original, and if this is something you think you’d enjoy, help share it.

The Man behind the Camera

The person behind this project is Brian Dillon, creator of the stop-motion sci-fi fantasy film “The Outer Circle.” He is a writer, producer and director who has been active in independent filmmaking for 20 years. You can see some of his work here at Empty Devil. Brian worked for the independent studio Witness Pictures, where he directed my first feature film Thursday’s Lovers, a low budget drama, and wrote and produced the dark fairy tale Lisl and the Lorlok, along with writing and producing over 40 cinematic Book Trailers. As a screenwriter, he’s written numerous spec scripts, as well as 16 feature book adaptations for publishers such as AuthorHouse, Xlibris and iUniverse. I worked for the New York Film Academy as a Technical Advisor, assisting students with cameras, lighting and sound, and currently work at Blu Digital Group as a Content Prep Operator (editor/transcoder).
